Blood is thicker than water, but

nothing's thicker than brotherhood.

A Worldwide Fraternity of Upstanding Men

Freemasonry based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place. It's the confidence of having millions of trustworthy brothers who have taken a sacred oath that they have your back. It’s a profound new sense of purpose and community. It’s a path of self-discovery and shared beliefs that make good men better sons, husbands, and fathers. And it’s walking upright and proud in the same tradition as the giants that came before us. In short, it’s a way of life.

A Time-Honored Tradition of Making a Difference

Guided by the enduring principles of our fraternity, we make a profound difference for our brothers, our families, and our communities. As Masons, our commitment to personal growth and relief through philanthropy is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place.

Ask me why I'm proud to be a Mason.

Clayton Waliczek

"I am proud to be a Mason and shall always be happy to number myself among those who uphold those cardinal principles and moral standards of life that are so needed if our organization is to continue on the high level that has been its character from its inception."

“I couldn't imagine my life without the disciplinary practice of the principles which Freemasonry espouses. There is a subtle joy, derived from the lifelong developing ability to interpret life through the signs, symbols, and allegories of Masonry, which undercuts my conscience life. Within that joy, there is an immense satisfaction that I share this unique experience with a wide and varied group of men from all over the world.”

"Freemasonry found me at a time in my life when I need what it teaches most. Masonry saved my life and helped lead me in a direction I am proud of.

I found myself by finding my Brothers."

"Freemasonry has been, and continues to be an important part of my personal and professional life. At an individual level, the virtues espoused by the Fraternity are a constant reminder that I must hold myself to a higher standard than that of my peers. Understanding that when I speak, and act I speak not only for myself, but I am for others a representative of the Fraternity as a whole. In this way I help to ensure that the reputation and character, of not only myself, but also the Masonic Fraternity remains unsullied."

The Grand Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of New York State brings men of integrity together in brotherhood. Our common bond is the shared belief that every man can–and should–step into his best self and make a difference in the lives of others.

As Freemasons, we believe in:

● Brotherly Love:

The backbone and lifeline of our Fraternity. We sustain each other with unwavering support, push each other toward excellence, care for each other’s loved ones in times of need, and embrace our many differences.

● Relief:

We cannot grow as individuals or as brothers if we let those around us fall. Acts of charity, community service, and good deeds are expressions of our love for humanity and a path to self-improvement.

● Truth Wisdom:

Is a precursor to excellence. We are steadfast in our pursuit of education and the free and open exchange of ideas in order to gain the knowledge and insights we need to be better leaders, community members, and countrymen.

As Freemasons we strive to embody:

● Prudence: Freemasons demonstrate good judgment.

● Temperance:  Freemasons exercise control over their actions and desires.

● Fortitude: Freemasons exhibit strength in the face of adversity.

● Justice: Freemasons practice fairness in all dealings and respect for the laws of our land.
